ANGOLA, IND. – The Adrian College men's wrestling team traveled to Trine University for a MIAA conference dual where the Bulldogs toppled Trine 35-9
Senior Adrian Rosas set the tone for the Bulldogs with a dominant performance, winning by tech fall to give Adrian an early lead in their dual. The momentum continued in the 133-pound weight class, where Tyler Davis also claimed victory by tech fall, keeping the energy high for Adrian.
Trine momentarily bounced back in the 141-pound match, but Sampson Ross restored Adrian's control in the 149 division with a strong win by major decision. Junior Aiden Smith built on the momentum in the 157-weight class, pinning his opponent in the first period for an emphatic victory.
Senior Zach Platte followed with a hard-fought 3-1 decision in the 165-pound division, extending Adrian's lead. In the 174-pound match, Spencer Vos showcased his skill and determination, winning by major decision to maintain Adrian's dominant run.
Senior Blake Williams delivered a commanding performance in the 184-pound division, securing another tech fall victory. In the 197-weight class, sophomore Daxton Looney edged out his opponent in a tight bout, winning by decision.
The final match of the dual saw senior Blake Daniels fall by decision in the 285-pound division, but Adrian's commanding performance earlier in the meet secured a 35-9 victory for the Bulldogs.
Adrian is back in action next Thursday as they will host Albion College in the Merrilat Sport and Fitness Center. First match is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
