HILLSDALE, MICH. - The Adrian College Track and Field team traveled to the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic this Saturday where the men took 12th and the women took 13th.
On the men's side, senior Cameron Overmyer delivered a strong performance in the pole vault, securing seventh place with a height of 4.36m. Freshman Williem Evenson also competed in the event, finishing 17th with a clearance of 3.61m. Freshman Forrest Schroeder made his mark in the long jump, finishing 21st with a leap of 5.58m. Junior KJ Scott showed versatility, placing 26th in the shot put with a throw of 11.79m and 27th in the weight throw at 13.15m.
One of the standout performances came from junior Will Houvener, who nearly shattered the all-time mile record, finishing a strong third with a time of 4:23.52. He also raced to 17th in the 800m with a time of 2:07.23. Freshman Caleb Billings rounded out the men's distance efforts, finishing 14th in the mile with a solid 4:39.71.
Freshman Joseph Sheridan impressed in the 400m dash, crossing the line in 54.06 seconds for 11th place, while senior Alec Grzegorek finished 14th with a time of 55.03 seconds. In the 200m dash, freshman Ian Chavis took 19th with a time of 24.31 seconds. The men's 4x400m relay team finished in seventh place, clocking a time of 3:50.74.
On the women's side, freshman Alysia Townsend showcased her high-flying ability, finishing fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.63m. She also competed in the 400m dash, where she finished eighth with a time of 1:02.85. Freshman Piper Pierce made a solid showing in the long jump, finishing 10th with a mark of 4.57m. Sophomore Bridget Waterstradt put in strong performances in both the mile and 800m runs, taking 15th in the mile with a time of 5:50.18 and 12th in the 800m with a time of 2:40.15
In the pole vault, freshman Katelyn Thelen finished 15th with a height of 2.60m. The women's 4x400m relay team wrapped up the competition with a ninth-place finish, posting a time of 4:49.75.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, February 1 where they will travel to compete in the Indiana Wesleyan Midwest Classic. First event is scheduled for 10:00 AM
