MANCHESTER, IND. - The Adrian College men's wrestling team competed in the annual Mid-State Conference.
Senior
Ashtyn Bennett competed in the 141-pound division, finishing with a 2-2 record. He secured victories by major decision and decision before falling in the quarterfinals and Consolation Round 4. Also competing at 141, junior
Blaise Kokkales battled his way through the consolation bracket to finish eighth with a 4-3 record, ultimately falling in the seventh-place match.
In the 149-pound division, freshman
Liam Totten wrapped up his tournament with a 2-2 record, earning wins by injury default and decision. Senior
Landyn VanWyk also competed in the 149 bracket, finishing with a 2-2 record.
At 165, freshman
Treyeonn Clark and sophomore
Dominik Whitesel each went 0-2 in their respective matches.
The 174-pound weight class featured three Bulldog wrestlers. Freshman
Drake Hurley finished 1-2, while fellow freshman
Noah Risner went 2-2, securing wins by pinfall and decision. Freshman
Drake Rorabacher also competed in the bracket, going 1-2 with a win by major decision.
Senior
Trenton DiGenova took to the mat in the 184-pound division, finishing 1-2 on the day with a victory by pinfall.
In the 197-pound bracket, junior
Shan Swank delivered a strong performance, going 3-2 and securing a sixth-place finish with wins by decision and two pins.
Rounding out the tournament for Adrian, freshman
Scott Smith placed eighth in the 285-pound division, picking up three wins by pinfall and two by decision before falling by decision in the seventh-place match.
Adrian is back in the mat on Friday, February 28 where they will compete in the NCAA Central Regional in Crawfordsville, Indiana, hosted by Wabash College.
