FINDLAY, OHIO. – The Adrian College track and field squad headed to Findlay, Ohio for the Flag City Tune-up on Friday afternoon with some historic marks.
On the men's side, freshman
Ian Kramp placed 15th in the long jump with a leap of 5.59m (18-4.00). In the weight throw, sophomore
KJ Scott secured 12th place with a throw of 15.31m (50-3.00), marking it the second-best performance in program history. Senior
Cameron Overmyer claimed fifth in the pole vault with a height of 4.50m (14-9.25), while junior
Ethan DeBerry entered the program's top-10 list with his vault of 4.35m (14-3.25). Freshman
Janiro Ford excelled in the triple jump, finishing third with a mark of 11.99m (39-4.00), the eight-best mark in school history.
On the track, senior
Caleb Billings placed sixth in the mile run with a time of 4:36.10, while freshman
Ryan Morris secured 10th in 4:43.20. In the 400m dash, freshman
Joseph Sheridan took seventh in 53.37 seconds, narrowly edging out
Ian Chavis, who placed ninth in 53.43 seconds. Senior Alec Grzgorek claimed seventh in the 800m run with a time of 2:03.68, followed by sophomore
Zachary Klepaski in ninth (2:10.60) and freshman
Joshua Sharp-Pelto in 10th (2:13.35). Junior
Chris Smith delivered a strong performance in the 3,000m run, finishing fifth in 9:39.72, while freshman
Grant Fahle secured seventh in 9:59.38. The Adrian 4x400m relay team capped off the meet with an impressive second-place finish in 3:41.77.
On the women's side, freshman
Alysia Townsend set a new school record in the long jump, earning second place with a leap of 5.49m (18-0.25). She also delivered a strong performance in the high jump, securing third place with a height of 1.63m (5-4.25). Senior
Ciara Heslet placed seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.48m (4-10.25). In the triple jump, freshman
Piper Pierce finished third with a leap of 9.65m (31-8.00), ranking seventh all-time in program history.
On the track, junior
Abigail Raftis finished ninth in the 400m dash with a time of 1:08.48, followed by junior
Emily Guzdziol in 10th (1:10.15). The 3,000m run saw a strong Adrian presence, with sophomore
Bridget Waterstradt placing third in 11:39.14, senior
Sydney Wilkie finishing fourth in 11:39.95, and freshman
Olivia Hyatt rounding out the top five with a time of 12:10.86.
Adrian is back on the track on Saturday, March 1 where they will compete in the MIAA Indoor Championships in Angola, Indiana with the first event is set to kick off at 10:00 AM. Â
