ANGOLA, IND. - The Adrian College track and field team traveled to compete in the Mrs.G Invitational, hosted by Trine University this Friday, with two Bulldogs climbing the all-time record board.
On the men's side, junior Will Houvener delivered an impressive performance, securing third place in the mile run with a time of 4:24.80 and second in the 3,000m run with 8:58.88. Senior Asher Cousino finished sixth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.65 seconds. Freshman Forrest Schroeder finished 22nd in the long jump with a distance of 5.39m, while sophomore KJ Scott earned 12th in the weight throw with a toss of 13.97m.
In the 400m dash, junior Lucas Ewing placed 28th with a time of 57.37 seconds, and freshman Joseph Sheridan impressed with a sixth-place finish in the 200m dash, crossing the line in 23.90 seconds.
On the women's side, freshman Alysia Townsend finished with a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.63m. Senior Ciara Heslat also made her mark, securing fifth place with a leap of 1.51m. Junior Alayna Paeth placed 14th in the pole vault, clearing a height of 2.65m. Freshman Vivian Vallarsa crossed the finish line in 1:06.88 in the 400m dash to finish 17th, while junior Abigail Raftus followed closely behind in 18th with a time of 1:09.52. Raftus also captured 10th in the 200m dash, finishing in 28.93 seconds.
Sophomore Isabell Peltier clocked a time of 2:45.74 in the 800m run to take 14th, while alumni Emme Koutz claimed victory with a time of 2:18.46. Sophomore Amelia Smolinski took 18th in the weight throw with a mark of 9.81m, and freshman Piper Pierce jumped to a seventh-place finish in the long jump, recording a distance of 4.75m. In the 3,000m run, sophomore Bridget Waterstradt secured fifth with a time of 11:34.65, with senior Sydney Wilkie finishing closely behind in sixth at 11:37.48.
Adrian is back in action on Saturday, February 15 where they will travel to Allendale, Michigan for the GVSU Big Meet Saturday, with the first event beginning at 10:00 AM.
