CEDARVILLE, Ohio. - The Adrian College track and field team enters their second week of the outdoor season with a trip to Cedarville University on Saturday afternoon where they wrapped up the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Invitational.
On the men's side, Will Houvener earned a solid sixth place finish in the 10,000m run with a time of 32:59.44. KJ Scott put on a strong showing in the discus, finishing fourth with a throw of 48.86m (160-3). In the pole vault, Cameron Overmyer secured eighth place with a clearance of 4.25m (13-11.25), while Tayshawn Crosby soared to a seventh place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.90m (6-2.75).
Ryan Morris clocked in at 4:16.62, finishing 32nd in the highly competitive 1500m run. Jackson Hayward demonstrated his speed in the sprints, claiming 14th in the 100m dash with a time of 10.79 seconds and also securing sixth in the 200m dash at 21.51 seconds.
On the women's side, Piper Pierce posted a 15th place finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.09m (16-8.50). Amelia Smolinski competed fiercely in the shot put, landing in 34th place with a throw of 10.13m (33-3). Olivia Hyatt ran a strong 10,000m race, finishing 11th with a time of 47:11.97. In the 1500m run, Bridget Waterstradt finished 47th with a time of 5:24.62, and Alysia Townsend posted a 39th place finish in the 200m dash, clocking in at 26.20 seconds.
Adrian is back on the track on Saturday, April 5 where they will travel to Hillsdale College to compete in the Hillsdale Invite. First event is set to begin at 11:00 AM.
