ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College Track and Field program is excited to announce the addition of
Brooke Burns as the new Assistant Coach, working alongside
Kaylie Laskody to lead the throws group.
Burns brings an impressive athletic background and wealth of experience to Adrian. She competed collegiately at three different institutions, spending one year at Troy University, three years at Marshall University, and concluding her career at the University of Charleston. Her versatility and consistent performances across multiple events have earned her a decorated resume.
While at Marshall, Burns set the freshman all-time record in the hammer throw and still ranks fourth all-time in that event, as well as sixth all-time in the discus. During her time at Troy, she earned top-10 marks in multiple events, ranking sixth in hammer throw, seventh in discus, and 10th in the weight throw.
Burns capped off her career at the University of Charleston, where she left a lasting legacy. She is the school record holder in the discus and also ranks second all-time in the hammer throw, third in indoor shot put, third in the weight throw, and fifth in outdoor shot put.
Her success carried into the 2024–25 season, earning All-Region honors and MEC All-Conference recognition in the hammer throw, shot put, and discus. She also set the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Championship record in the hammer throw.
