TECUMSEH, Mich. – The Adrian College men's golf team hosted its annual Irish Hills Invitational over the weekend. The Bulldogs held the lead after the opening round but slipped on day two, ultimately finishing in second place. Adrian posted a team score of 306 on Friday and followed with a 320 on Saturday for a two-day total of 626.
Mason Gurney led the Bulldogs individually, carding rounds of 74 and 78 for a 152 total, finishing third overall. Michael Shubeck placed 12th with rounds of 79 and 78 (157), followed closely by Jaden Eggers, who shot 76 and 82 for a 158. Carter Klawonn added rounds of 77 and 82 (159), while Jack Vogel rounded out the starting lineup with scores of 83 and 85 (168).
Three additional Adrian players competed individually. Simon Foreman posted a strong ninth-place finish with rounds of 74 and 82 for a 156 total. Jackson Colaner shot 83 and 82 for a 165, and Cole Zavadil recorded rounds of 86 and 84 (170).
The Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround as they compete in MIAA Jamboree #1, hosted by Albion College at Marshall Country Club in Marshall, Michigan.
