ADRIAN, Mich. -- With every Adrian College Homecoming, the Bulldogs induct a new class of Hall of Fame members. During the week we will highlight the Class of 2025 and the accomplishments each of them made during their time at Adrian College.
On September 19, 2025, Adrian College will proudly recognize Keenan Robinson, Class of 2002, as one of the foremost leaders in the field of sports medicine. With over 20 years of experience supporting elite athletes at the collegiate, professional, and Olympic levels, Robinson's career exemplifies a commitment to excellence, innovation, and athlete-centered care.
A graduate of Adrian College with a degree in exercise science, Keenan went on to earn his Master's degree in Sports Healthcare from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2004. While pursuing his graduate education, he gained early professional experience through an internship with the San Francisco Giants (2003) and as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with Arizona State University's track and field team (2004).
Robinson began his professional journey at the University of Michigan, serving as Assistant Athletic Trainer for the men's and women's swim teams from 2004–2009 and again from 2012–2013. His tenure was marked by championship success, including three Big Ten titles (2008, 2009, 2013) and the 2013 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving National Championship. During this time, he helped guide athletes to multiple NCAA individual titles, Big Ten Swimmer of the Year honors, and national recognition.
From 2009 to 2016, Keenan led the strength and conditioning program at the renowned North Baltimore Aquatic Club (NBAC). Under his guidance:
- Over 50 swimmers earned Division I scholarships
- 15 athletes represented Team USA internationally
- NBAC athletes won more than 40 international medals
- The club earned the USA Swimming Gold Medal Club Excellence Award every year of his tenure
In 2016, Robinson was named Director of Sports Medicine and Science for USA Swimming, a role he held through 2025. He played a pivotal role in supporting U.S. Olympic athletes at the highest level, including global icons Michael Phelps, Chase Kalisz, and Allison Schmitt. His work contributed to U.S. swimmers earning over 100 Olympic medals and setting numerous world and national records.
Beyond his hands-on work with athletes, Keenan is a recognized thought leader in his field. He has authored more than five peer-reviewed research publications, and notably, is the only non-physician ever to serve on the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee's Sports Medicine Advisory Council. His expertise has been featured in national media outlets including NBC Nightly News, The Dr. Oz Show, and Sports Illustrated.
Today, Keenan serves as Manager of Player Recovery for the Cleveland Browns, continuing his mission of optimizing performance and recovery for elite athletes. He is also a devoted father to two children, Regan and Roch, and remains an advocate for athlete health and wellness at all levels of competition.
In addition to the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday night, the Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be honored on the field before the Homecoming football game on Saturday.
