ADRIAN, Mich. -- With every Adrian College Homecoming, the Bulldogs induct a new class of Hall of Fame members. During the week we will highlight the Class of 2025 and the accomplishments each of them made during their time at Adrian College.
On September 19, 2025, Adrian College will proudly recognize Samantha Barker Ayre, Class of 2014, as one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the Adrian College Women's Soccer program. A dynamic force on the field and a leader in her community, Sam's legacy continues to inspire both current student-athletes and alumni.
During her collegiate career, Sam was a dominant offensive presence, earning:
- Three First-Team All-MIAA selections (2011–2013)
- Two First-Team All-Region honors (2011, 2013)
- Third-Team All-American recognition in 2011
Her performance helped guide the Bulldogs to the 2011 MIAA Regular Season Championship, where she served as an anchor for the team with her unmatched leadership and scoring ability.
Sam's name is written throughout the Adrian College record books. She holds 12 career records, including:

Her offensive dominance and consistent excellence made her one of the most feared forwards in the conference and a foundational figure in Adrian's soccer legacy.
Off the field, Samantha has continued her path of leadership and service. She currently serves as the Supervisor of the Veteran Directed Care Program at the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio, where she supports veterans and their families through critical care initiatives.
Sam and her husband, fellow Bulldog alum Steve Ayre '12, are the proud parents of three children: Everly, Emersyn, and Maximus. In both her personal and professional life, Sam continues to embody the values of dedication, excellence, and service.
In addition to the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday night, the Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be honored on the field before the Homecoming football game on Saturday.
