ADRIAN, Mich. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced its postseason awards on Tuesday afternoon, and the Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team was well represented. The Bulldogs earned three All-Conference selections, one All-Freshman Team honor, the NCHA Player of the Year award, and the Coach of the Year honor.
Head coach Adam Phillips was named NCHA Coach of the Year in his second season behind the bench. Phillips guided the Bulldogs to a significant turnaround, moving from the No. 4 seed in last season's Harris Cup Playoffs to the No. 1 seed this year. Adrian captured the NCHA Peters Cup with a 14-3-1 conference record and enters the postseason at 20-6-1 overall. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 2 in the DIIIHockeyNews Poll, No. 3 by USCHO, and No. 5 in the NPI rankings.
Forward Ian Amsbaugh earned All-Conference honors and was named the 2025-26 NCHA Player of the Year. Entering the Harris Cup Semifinals, Amsbaugh leads the team with 48 points on 12 goals and 36 assists. Eight of his goals and 25 of his assists have come in conference play. His 48 points rank first in NCAA Division III, and he sits third nationally in points per game.
Bradley Somers also secured a spot on the NCHA All-Conference Team at forward. Somers ranks second on the team with 36 points, tallying 14 goals and 22 assists. In conference action, he has recorded 27 points on 11 goals and 16 assists.
Defenseman David Clarke earned All-Conference honors after totaling 32 points on eight goals and 24 assists. Four of his goals and 19 of his assists came in conference play. Clarke's 24 assists rank second in the NCHA and first among defensemen.
Nathaniel Bannister was named to the NCHA All-Freshman Team. The defenseman has made an immediate impact in his first season, recording 17 points on five goals and 12 assists. Four goals and seven assists have come in conference play, totaling 11 league points.
The Bulldogs will look to continue their strong season on Saturday, February 28, when they host Aurora University in the NCHA Harris Cup Semifinals. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., with a berth in the Harris Cup Final on the line.
