ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's hockey team continues to skate among the nation's best, earning the No. 3 spot in this week's USCHO.com Division III Men's Ice Hockey Poll, and the No. 2 spot in the DIIIHockeyNews Poll released Monday. The Bulldogs now sit at 20-6-1 overall as postseason play is officially underway.
Adrian opened the conference tournament in dominant fashion, sweeping Lake Forest in the first round of the playoffs this past weekend. The Bulldogs controlled the series with balanced scoring and disciplined defensive play, setting the tone early and never letting momentum slip. The two postseason victories provided a strong start to the playoff push and helped maintain Adrian's position near the top of the national rankings.
The Bulldogs remain just behind Hobart and Aurora in the poll, while fellow NCHA contender St. Norbert continues to sit inside the top five. With multiple conference teams ranked nationally, the road through the playoffs will be competitive and demanding.
Adrian holds the No. 5 spot in the NPI Rankings which is used to determine seeding and at-large bids for the NCAA Tournament.
Carrying confidence from a successful opening round, Adrian now shifts its focus to the next step in the tournament. With a top-three national ranking and postseason momentum on its side, the Bulldogs will look to keep building as they pursue a conference title and a deep NCAA tournament run.
