ADRIAN, Mich. – During every Homecoming Weekend, Adrian College inducts a new class of Bulldogs into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Throughout the week, we will highlight the Class of 2026 and the accomplishments each inductee achieved during their time at Adrian College.
On October 2, 2026, Adrian College will honor Sam Fischer, Class of 2014, whose consistent production at the plate helped the Adrian College baseball program capture four MIAA championships and make four NCAA Tournament appearances.
A native of Columbia, Missouri, Fischer developed into one of the most accomplished offensive players in program history. He was a three-time All-MIAA selection and earned All-Region honors three times during his Adrian career.
Fischer broke out during the 2012 season, starting all 46 games and batting .371 with 63 hits, 43 runs and 35 RBIs. He recorded 15 doubles, eight triples and four home runs while posting a .624 slugging percentage. Fischer also drew 18 walks, reached base at a .443 clip and stole 16 bases.
He followed with another productive season in 2013, batting .325 with 49 hits, 38 runs and 29 RBIs. Fischer finished the year with 12 doubles, two triples and six home runs while drawing 30 walks and recording a .452 on-base percentage.
Fischer capped his collegiate career with his strongest season in 2014. He batted .384 with 58 hits, 44 runs and 41 RBIs while starting all 42 games. His 17 doubles, five home runs, .623 slugging percentage and .495 on-base percentage helped lead the Bulldogs to another conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.
Across his final three seasons, Fischer started all 133 games and compiled a .360 batting average. He totaled 170 hits, 125 runs, 44 doubles, 12 triples, 15 home runs and 105 RBIs. Fischer finished with a .600 slugging percentage and a .463 on-base percentage while drawing 79 walks and stealing 31 bases.
Fischer's name remains throughout the Adrian baseball record book. He ranks among the program's career top 10 in slugging percentage, runs scored, home runs, doubles, total bases, hit-by-pitches and stolen bases. He also ranks among the career top five in triples and walks. His single-season marks rank among the top five in games played and games started, among the top two in triples and among the top 10 in doubles and total bases.
Throughout Fischer's career, the Bulldogs upheld their winning tradition by capturing the MIAA championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in each of his four seasons.
Following his graduation from Adrian in 2014, Fischer entered a career in education and athletics. He currently works at St. John's Jesuit High School & Academy, where he serves as assistant athletic director, head baseball coach and head strength and conditioning coach.
The Adrian College Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be inducted during the Hall of Fame Banquet on Friday, October 2. The class will also be introduced on the field before the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 3.
