ADRIAN, Mich. – During every Homecoming Weekend, Adrian College inducts a new class of Bulldogs into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Throughout the week, we will highlight the Class of 2026 and the accomplishments each inductee achieved during their time at Adrian College.
On October 2, 2026, Adrian College will honor Mitch Stefanski, Class of 2014, whose power, consistency and all-around performance helped continue a championship tradition for the Adrian College baseball program.
A native of Oxford, Michigan, Stefanski developed into one of the most productive hitters in program history. His name remains throughout the Adrian baseball record book, highlighted by program records for the most triples in a season with nine and the most career triples with 18. He is also tied for the single-game records in home runs with two and triples with two, while his 10 total bases in a game rank fourth in program history.
Stefanski put together a breakout sophomore season in 2012, batting .350 with 48 hits, seven triples, three home runs, 36 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He accumulated 78 total bases and finished the season with a .569 slugging percentage. His seven triples ranked third in the MIAA and 13th nationally in NCAA Division III.
During the 2013 season, Stefanski recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 79 putouts and three assists. He also reached base after being hit by a pitch 15 times, which ranked second in the conference. His season totals of 16 and 15 hit-by-pitches rank seventh and eighth, respectively, in the Adrian record book.
Stefanski capped his career with an outstanding senior season in 2014. He earned First Team All-MIAA honors at third base and was named Second Team All-Mideast Region by D3baseball.com and Third Team All-Mideast Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
In his final collegiate game, Stefanski delivered one of the most memorable performances of his career during the 2014 NCAA Midwest Regional championship against UW-Whitewater. He finished 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and three RBIs, accounting for 10 total bases as the Bulldogs narrowly fell, 5-4.
Stefanski completed his Adrian career ranked sixth in program history with a .579 slugging percentage, seventh with a .463 on-base percentage and sixth with 34 hit-by-pitches. His 18 career triples remain the most in Adrian baseball history.
Throughout Stefanski's career, the Bulldogs upheld their winning tradition by capturing the MIAA championship and advancing to the NCAA Regional in each of his four seasons.
Stefanski also excelled academically, earning Dean's List recognition in 2014. He graduated from Adrian College with a Bachelor of Science in physics and a minor in mathematics.
Following graduation, Stefanski began a career in engineering and currently works for Autoliv as an engineering manager. Outside of his professional career, he enjoys baseball, softball, golf, hunting and fishing. Stefanski and his wife, Emily, have two daughters, Waylynn and Sienna.
The Adrian College Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be inducted during the Hall of Fame Banquet on Friday, October 2. The class will also be introduced on the field before the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 3.
