Jennifer Perrin and Megan Bouwens combined for 23 second half points to lift the Adrian Bulldogs over the Alma College Scots in MIAA action on Wednesday evening.
After taking a one-point lead into the locker room at halftime, the Bulldogs had an offensive explosion in the second half, outscoring the Scots 36-29 to pick up the 63-55 victory. The offensive fire was stoked by Perrin's 13 second-half points, shooting 4-of-4 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Bouwens was not far behind, shooting 4-of-6 from the field in the second half while also grabbing seven rebounds to finish the game with 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.
Nichole Roose and Kim Olech both added eight points a piece while Olech also had eight rebounds for the Bulldogs in the win.
Ashley Matuzak scored a game-high 29 points for the Scots in the loss.
The Bulldogs, now 4-9 and 2-2 in MIAA play, will next host defending MIAA champion Calvin College on Saturday, January 12 at 3:00 p.m.
