ADRIAN, Mich. - The #11 Adrian College Bulldogs picked up their second-straight shut-out win and 11th consecutive victory Friday night over conference-foe Marian College.

During a tightly-played first period that saw the Bulldogs get whistled for three early penalties, the home team struck with 3:47 remaining when Shawn Skelly fired a shot under the glove of Jason Jadczak to put the Bulldogs up 1-0.

After a slight melee broke out in the first half of the second period and both teams settled back down, the Bulldogs lit up the scoreboard three times in just 3:05. Adam Krug cleaned up a second-chance puck in front of the net at 13:45 for his first goal of the game, which put the Bulldogs up 2-0. The next line on the ice also found the back of the net with Eric Bailen one-timing a pass from Brad Houston to push the lead to three goals.

The Bulldog production line electrified the Arrington Ice Arena with what might be the best goal of the year for the Adrian College team. Adam Krug got things started by gaining possession of a loose puck in the neutral zone. He then lofted the puck over the last Sabre defender between his team and their offensive zone to a wide-open Shawn Skelly who was accompanied by Eric Miller for the 2-on-0 opportunity. With just the goalie to beat, Skelly skated to the right side of the zone before passing the puck behind his back to Miller, who then one-timed the puck past a sprawling Marian goalie to bring the crowd to its feet.

In the third period, Krug added his second goal of the game and 19th goal of the season at the 6:58 mark to wrap up the Bulldog scoring on the night.

With his two assists on the night, defenseman Quinn Waller set a new MCHA record for assists by a defenseman in a season. Waller, who broke the previous-best mark of 18, now has 20 assists in league play so far this season.

Brad Fogal picked up his second shut-out of the season. The freshman goalie made several key saves while helping his team have a perfect night of penalty killing. Fogal stopped all 22 shots on goal by the Sabres while picking up his 13th win of the season.

The two top teams in the MCHA will face off again tomorrow afternoon at the Arrington Ice Arena. The puck is scheduled to drop at 3:00 p.m.
