Baseball Drops 7-4 Decision to Concordia

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College baseball team lost to Concordia University by the final score of 7-4 on Saturday afternoon to fall to 5-6 overall.

Concordia took a 3-0 lead early in the game after scoring one run in the top of the first. They were able to add two more runs in the top of the third inning.

Adrian closed the gap to 3-2 by scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Brian Bilius singled to centerfield to start the inning. Bilius stole second base to get into scoring position with Jake Cappelletty at the plate. Cappelletty delivered an RBI double to give the Bulldogs their first run of the game. Kyle Strawn hit a single back up the middle of the field to send Cappelletty home.

After scoring one run in the top of the sixth inning, the Cardinals increased thier lead to 7-2 after the seventh inning. Concordia scored three runs off three hits.

The Bulldogs tried to comeback in the bottom of the ninth, but they were only able to score two runs giving the Cardinals the 7-4 win.

Brian Bilius led AC with a 3-for-5 performance from the plate. He also scored a run. Cappelletty finished the game 2-for-5 with one RBI, while Strawn was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
