ADRIAN, Mich.--The nationally-ranked Adrian College men's hockey team had its power-play on full display on Saturday in a 6-0 dismantling of visiting Milwaukee School of Engineering, as the Bulldogs earned a split of their Northern Collegiate Hockey Association season-opening weekend.

FOR ADRIAN
= Sophomore netminder Kevin Entmaa stopped all 28 shots he faced to record his first career shutout in 19 games for the Bulldogs.

= Three student-athletes--junior Kyle Brothers (1g, 1a), sophomores Cory Dunn (2a), Bryan Yim (1g, 1a)--notched two points on the afternoon. 

= A pair of freshmen, defensemen Joey Colatarci and Tyler Currie, both scored their first collegiate goals. 

= Two other First-years in Vincent Paquette, a forward, and Scott Clark, also a forward, also found the scoresheet with an assist.

= Junior captain Mathew Thompson, who also registered an assist, won 16 of 19 faceoffs to lead Adrian overall, 42-28 on draws.

THE OPPOSITION
= Adem Arifi led the Raiders with six shots and leading scorer Gage Christianson added three.

= Junior goalie Zach Woodman made 34 saves for a 74 total during the two-game series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Adrian scored half of its goals while on the power-play, going 3-for-7. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, killed off all five MSOE extra-man advantages.

= Brothers gave Adrian all the offense it would need midway through the opening period with a power-play marker. Colatarci also scored on the power-play 8 minutes and 27 seconds later.

= The Bulldogs scored two goals in each period and outshot MSOE 40 to 28.

= One of the turning points in the game came in the first period when Adrian successfully killed off a 5-on-3 Raiders power-play for about 72 seconds. Moments later, Brothers staked Adrian to a 1-0 lead and the Bulldogs never looked back.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Adrian's 31 victories against MSOE are the second-most against any opponent and the teams have met 38 times--the most in Bulldog hockey history.

= The Bulldogs now lead the all-time series 31-5-2, including 17-3-2 on home ice.

= Tonight's six-goal margin was the largest in the series since Feb. 20, 2010, when Adrian prevailed 9-2 at home.

= Credited with a game-winning goal today, Brothers moves past Thompson (and two others) for sole possession of fifth place on the Bulldogs' all-time chart.

= With seven shots on the weekend, Thompson has eclipsed 200 for his career (206).

= Entmaa is now one of seven Bulldog goaltenders who have notched at least one shutout. Brad Fogal (2007-11) is the career leader with 13.

= Adrian also set a series record for the biggest shutout win. The Bulldogs won 5-0 in 2008 and a year later.

= Former Adrian and current Princeton coach Ron Fogarty performed the ceremonial puckdrop. He led the Bulldogs for their first seven years of existence, compiling a 167-23-10 record and staggering .860 win percentage. The program won six conference championships and had four NCAA tournament appearances, including the 2011 National runner-up finish.
