@AdrianBaseball Falls Twice in Georgia to Host Piedmont, 7-4, and No. 18-Ranked Marietta, 11-4

DEMOREST, Ga.--The Adrian College baseball team lost both games of a split-doubleheader to wrap up the final day of the Piedmont College Spring Classic on Saturday, falling to the host Lions 7-4 and nationally-ranked Marietta College, 11-4.

THE BASICS
= Final Scores: Piedmont 7, Adrian 4 and Marietta 11, Adrian 4

= Location: Loudermilk Field; Demorest, Ga.; Sunny conditions

= Records: Piedmont Lions 13-5, Marietta Pioneers 7-5, Adrian Bulldogs 2-4

FOR ADRIAN
= Junior shortstop Ryan Dorow went 3-for-5 with three runs batted in versus Piedmont.

= Junior Ian Mikowski added two singles and scored a run against the Lions.

= In the Marietta contest, senior Gunnar Glodich had two of Adrian's seven hits, including a triple that he eventually scored on a RBI-groundout by Dorow.

= Senior Jeff Gertley chipped in a double versus the Pioneers.

HOW IT HAPPENED, PART I
= Brady Ballstadt homered with a man aboard in the bottom of the seventh inning to put Piedmont in the lead for good, 5-4. 

= The Lions added two insurance runsin the next frame.

= Adrian took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an attempted double-steal as senior Josh Knorr crossed home plate while Dorow was caught stealing second base.

= The Lions scored three runs in the third.

= Dorow put Adrian back in front with a bases-clearing double in the seventh, 4-3.

= Allen Tokarz got the win (2-0) in 1-2/3 innings of scoreless relief, and Josh Thomas retired the side in the ninth to pick up his ninth save.

HOW IT HAPPENED, PART II
= Marietta outhit the Bulldogs 18 to seven and jumped out to a 7-1 lead after two innings.

THE OPPOSITION
= Evan Gresham, Josh Tate and Ballstadt each had two hits for Piedmont, which finished with 10.

= Tim McCoy and Tyler Packanik paced the Pioneers with four hits each.  The latter had three RBI and Mike Hale chipped in two hits and three RBI.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
=  Adrian is on a three-game losing streak--the first time that has happened in a single season since March 2013.

UP NEXT
= Adrian is back in action next Saturday and Sunday in Westfield, Ind., at Grand Park where the Bulldogs will play Capital and Franklin.
