Box Score 2 ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College baseball team used strong pitching to sweep a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader Friday from visiting Trine University, 2-1 and 9-2.

FOR ADRIAN
=Junior Brian Killinger went 4-for-5, including a double and triple, with two runs scored and two runs batted in on the afternoon.
= Sophomore Tommy Parsons pitched a complete game in the opener. He fired a five-hitter while allowing one run and hitting a batter. He had five strikeouts and did not issue a walk.
= In Game-2, junior Zach Dunn made his first career start in 21 career appearances a successful one. He pitched six innings and scattered nine hits to improve to 4-0 this season. He allowed two runs (1 earned) and a walk to go along with four strikeouts.
THE OPPOSITION
= Jacob Heller had four hits in six at-bats during the twinbill.
= Colton Conn and Drew Palmer had three hits apiece to lead Trine's 12-hit attack in Game-2.
= Ben Wheaton (4-3) was the tough-luck loser in the Game-1 pitchers' duel. He scattered seven hits over six innings, allowing two runs and a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME ONE
= Senior
Gunnar Glodich broke a 1-1 deadlock with a two-out single to left-center field to bring home classmate
Jeff Gertley, who led off the sixth inning with a single, from second base for the game-winning run.
= Both teams scored a run in the fourth. Trine's Robert Ross had a RBI single through the right side, but sophomore
Brian Guck quickly countered with a RBI single to right center.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME TWO
= Tied 1-1, Adrian took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. After leading off with a single, Killinger eventually scored on a throwing error. Junior
Ian Mikowski, who reached on a bunt single to third base, scored on a wild pitch. And senior
Matt Andrus hit a sacrifice fly.
= The Bulldogs blew it open with four runs in the next frame to take an 8-1 cushion. Junior
Ryan Dorow had the big hit with a two-run triple to the fence in right field.
= Trine had a season-high 15 runners left on base.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Dorow went 0-for-3 in the opener, snapping his 21-game hit streak. He is batting .424 and has a career-high 51 RBI.
= Mikowski also saw his 18-game hitting streak halted after going 0-for-3 in the first game.
= Dorow rebounded nicely in the nightcap, falling a home run shy of the cycle. He finished 4-for-5 with three RBI, and became the first Bulldog since 2010 to surpass 50-plus RBI in a single-season.
= Parsons tops the MIAA with eight wins, equaling his 8-1 record last season. He lowered his team-leading earned-run average to 2.26, which is second in the conference, and has walked only five batters in 67-2/3 innings of work.
= Four of the MIAA's top-five hitters are Bulldogs, and batting over. 400.
