ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College baseball team matched its winning streak to a season-high five games on Monday by taking a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader from visiting Kalamazoo College, 18-3 and 5-2, to win the four-game regular-season series over the Hornets.

TOP 'DAWGS
=Two-time reigning MIAA Pitcher of the Week senior Tommy Parsons (4-0) threw a game-complete to win the nightcap, 5-2. He struck out 10 Hornets against no walks and allowed two runs on five hits.
= Senior Hunter Hayes was 4-for-9, including a double, with a run batted in during the doubleheader.
= Junior Chad Paddock had three hits with two walks and three RBI on the afternoon.
= Classmate Zack Zschering also had three hits and scored four runs in the twinbill.
= Juniors Dugan Darnell and Jordan Torrento also had three hits each on the day. Darnell also scored five times in the two contests.
= Freshman Jordan Williams also improved to 4-0 on the mound by working six innings to win Game 1. He allowed three runs (2 earned), six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.
THE OPPOSITION
= Jordan Wiley was 3-for-3 in the opener.
= Zach Prystash went 2-for-2 in the nightcap.
= Stefan Leclerc and Connor Grant had two hits apiece on the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED, Game 1
= Adrian took advantage of poor Kzoo fielding to score 18 runs on 12 hits, 12 walks and four errors as only seven of the runs were earned.
= The Bulldogs took control with five runs in the top of the third. Sophomore Gunner Rainey had a sacrifice fly and Torrento, Paddock and Hayes contributed RBI-singles.
= Adrian blew the contest open with eight runs on five hits, four walks and an error in the next frame to make the score 16-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED, Game 2
= Throwing on two-days' rest, Parsons was outstanding with 76 strikes in 92 pitches.
= The Bulldogs built a 4-0 lead with runs in each of the second and third innings, then a pair in the fourth. Darnell had a RBI-groundout for a 1-0 lead. Paddock made it 2-0 with a RBI-single through the left side. Senior Frank Resto doubled the advantage with a two-run homer over the left-center field wall--his first career blast in 295 at-bats.
= The Hornets got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning. Prystash led off with a single up the middle. Three batters later, Leclerc homered to left field to cut the deficit in half.
= Adrian rounded out the scoring in the ninth as Torrento tripled home Darnell for an insurance tally.
= The Bulldogs outhit the Hornets 10-5.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Adrian has won nine of the past 10 meetings against Kzoo to move to 110-65 in the all-time series, including 69-37 at home. The 110 victories are the most versus any opponent.
= The weather wreaked havoc with this series in terms of moving sites and days. In the end, Adrian hosted all four games in a 72-hour period and was the designated "visitors" in today's twinbill.
= The 18 runs in the opener were the most in the series for the Bulldogs since a 20-2 win on the same day during the 2009 season.
= Adrian equals its longest win streak of the season--Bulldogs also won five-straight from March 17-25--and is 10-1 in the last 11 starts.
= Wiley paces the MIAA with 22 stolen bases.
= Parsons tops the MIAA in earned-run average (1.80), strikeouts (46) and victories (4--with teammate Williams and Alma's Eric Frontzak).
= At 33-4 lifetime, Parsons is the NCAA's active leader in career victories for ALL Divisions.
