= The Bulldogs had an excellent scoring chance in the next frame, but Brockhaus got out of the jam. Sophomore Brandon Cooper led off with a walk, but was thrown out trying to steal second. After a ground out, Mazur hit a liner that centerfielder Blake Bean misplayed in the lights as the ball rolled to the center field fence for a triple. He was stranded when senior Brandon Baldus flied out to right field.
= The home team threatened again in the fourth when junior Gunner Rainey and Wood had back-to-back walks to begin the inning. After a strikeout, senior Dugan Darnell hit into a fielder's choice for an out at second base putting runners at first and third with two outs. Mazur struck out looking as Brockhaus escaped the jam.
