Box Score MISENHEIMER, N.C.--Senior outfielder Brady Wood led the Adrian offense with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate, but host Pfeiffer jumped out to a quick lead that the Bulldogs couldn't recover in a 5-2 non-conference baseball loss to the Falcons on Sunday afternoon.

= Graduate student Brandon Baldus went 1-for-3 with a double and run batted in.
= The Adrian bullpen of freshman Michael Swanson and sophomore Austin Frederick was able to keep the Falcons in check to keep the Bulldogs within striking distance. They combined for four innings while allowing just one unearned run and scattering five hits.
THE OPPOSITION
= Zach Ferrell was 3-for-4 with a walk in the leadoff spot.
= Bryce Marsh was 2-for-3 with three RBI, including a home run.
= John Owen (W, 1-0) started the first three innings and was credited with the win. He allowed no runs nor walks with three strikeouts.
= Michael Glenn pitched two scoreless innings without giving up a hit to pick up the save.
= Jake Brown had two hits, including a double, and a pair of walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= The Falcons jumped on the scoreboard with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Marsh was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Kyler Fairchild hit into a double play to score another run.
= The home team padded its lead to 4-0 with two runs in the third on a two-run homer by Marsh.
= In the top of the fourth, Adrian cut the deficit to 4-1 on a sacrifice fly to center field by Baldus.
= In the sixth, Hayden McGray scored on a passed ball to restore the Falcons' four-run lead.
= The Bulldogs had a promising seventh frame as senior Tristin Richardson singled down the right field line to bring home junior Sean O'Keefe, who led off with a single to right-center. After two outs, Adrian loaded the bases on Richardson's single, a single from Wood and junior Brandon Cooper was hit by a pitch, but couldn't close the gap with more runs.
= On the afternoon, AC had nine runners left on base and PU had a dozen.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Pfeiffer sweeps the weekend series to lead the all-time series against Adrian, 3-0.
= The Bulldogs have started a season 0-3 for the first time since 2003.
= Wood leads the team with a .400 batting average, which ranks fifth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

= Adrian looks to regroup when it returns to the South for spring break starting next Saturday and running through Saturday, March 7.
