ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College baseball team and the Michigan weather haven't been the best of friends this season as poor weather has continue to postpone, suspend, and make up games. The Bulldogs are tasked with an extremely busy week and they jam eight games in six days. The Bulldogs will begin the week with game three of the season series against Trine University before heading to Hope College for three games on Wednesday, and Albion College for one on Thursday all before the three game weekend series against Olivet College.
Adrian is coming off a pair of big wins over Albion College over the weekend where the Bulldogs defeated the Britons by ten runs in both games of the doubleheader to play only a total of 14 innings. Adrian and Hope sit tied at the top of the MIAA standings with a 5-2 record in conference followed by Kalamazoo at 6-4, Albion at 5-4, Alma, at 6-5, Calvin and Trine at 5-6, and Olivet at 1-9.
During the upcoming week, Adrian will pick up on two suspended games starting with Hope which sits tied 4-4 in the top of the eighth and Albion that sits tied 3-3 in the top of the fourth. The Hope and Adrian game was suspended due to an injury to an umpire, and the second suspended game between Adrian and Albion was due to rain and poor field conditions.
The Bulldogs will be forced to use most of its bullpen this week.
Jacob Hanoian has led the bullpen in the closer roll with a 2.03 ERA on the season in 13.1 innings pitched with three saves.
Luc St. Antoine has been solid as of late for Adrian out of the pen with a 3.21 ERA followed by a 5.54 from
Tripp Russo.
Joe Toth is coming off a solid week where he pitched eight innings in two games allowing just three hits and one run while grabbing a win in his first collegiate start.
Michael Swanson sits as the pitcher of record in the suspended Albion game and leads the team with a WHIP of 0.77 and sits in second in ERA at 2.45 in 22 innings pitched.Â
On offense,

Don Goodes at .348 and

Dylan Johnson had himself a week at the plate batting 6-for-12 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Johnson also sits on a five game inning streak and has recorded a hit in seven of his last eight games.
As a team, the Bulldogs have been dangerous on the base paths as they are 46-for-55 on stolen bases led by Goodes who is 14-of-17 and Peck who is 10-of-10.
The busy week begins on Tuesday in a nine inning game against Trine on the road.
