OLATHE, Kan. -- The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Matt Eller of the Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team was selected to the Men's At-Large Team for District 6 consisting of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. The At-Large team is for athletes that participate in a sport that the majority of college institutions do not compete in such as hockey.
CoSIDA Academic All-District nominees must have a GPA of at least 3.5 or better while also being a star player in competition throughout their career. Eller earned a GPA of 3.96 in at Adrian College while majoring in business administration.
Eller's career achievements includes being named a three-time AHCA All-American Scholar, a three-time NCHA Academic All-Conference honoree, a 2021-22 NCHA All-Conference, a 2021-22 AHCA First Team All-American, a member of the 2022 NCAA All-Tournament Team, and a National Champion.
During his career at Adrian, Eller played in 103 games for the Bulldogs totaling three goals and 38 assists for 41 points as a defenseman.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
