Box Score 3 ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College club softball team played three games against Michigan State University on Sunday, October 29 at Adrian High School. The Bulldogs unfortunately lost all three games with the final scores being 1-10, 1-6, and 1-21.
In game one, Michigan State scored first in the top of the first. Adrian answered shortly after in the bottom of the second, making the score, 1-1.
Chelsea Bell was the lone run of the game that came off a single from
Jocelyn Schuster. The Spartans scored 9 unanswered runs, four in the third and five runs coming in the top of the fifth. Adrian totaled three hits in the game to Michigan States 13.
Taylor Campbell started in the circle where she threw all five innings for the Bulldogs where she allowed four earned runs.
The Spartans started game two right where they left off pouncing on Adrian in the second inning scoring six runs. Adrian would score their lone run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning from
Chelsea Bell. Hailey Homes started the second game where she allowed five earned runs on 16 hits with three strikeouts. Adrian totaled five hits throughout the game as well as drawing five walks.
The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard first with a double from
Chelsea Bell with
Lyta Glombowski scoring from first. Michigan State took the game over after that, scoring 17 runs in the top of the second and four more runs in the top of the third.
Elizabeth Grady was the starting pitcher where she allowed 10 earned runs on 16 hits with one strikeout.
Alyssa Kamm came in relief, but she allowed four earned runs off seven Spartan hits. Adrian had a total of four hits in the three-inning game while Michigan State had 23 of their own.
The club softball team will return to play on Sunday, November 5 at 10AM, 12PM, and 2PM. All three games will be played at the Adrian College softball field.
