ADRIAN, Mich. -- The No. 2 Adrian College Men's ACHA Division 1 hockey team hit the ice for three games this week, sweeping the University of Michigan-Dearborn and then defeating Trine University on the weekend. The team honored its Senior Class of 2024 before the game on Saturday versus Trine, highlighting the four-year careers and achievements of
Nash Hatcher,
Brodie Thornton,
Nolan Baldrica,Â
Cameron Armstrong,
Matteo DiGiulio, and
Brayden Morris.
The Bulldogs opened their week on the road against Michigan-Dearborn, taking down the No. 25 team in the country, 8-2.
Sebastian Smith scored a hat-trick for the Bulldogs while
Matteo DiGiulio,
Hunter Allen,
Cyrus Toth,
David Dell, and
Nash Hatcher provided the remainder of the scoring. Goaltender
Peyton Trzaska earned the victory in goal for Adrian.
The two teams met again on Thursday night, this time at the Arrington Ice Arena where the Bulldogs dominated once again, this time defeating the Wolverines, 7-1. DiGiulio scored twice,
Matthew DiCesare added one, Smith added two more, while
Cameron Armstrong and
Dylan Gajewski each found the back of the net. Thornton, DiCesare and Gajewski each provided two helpers as well. Goaltender
Noah Decottignies made 16 saves in the home win.
The Bulldogs took to the ice at the Arrington Ice Arena on Saturday afternoon to close out the weekend and honor their Senior Class of six, coming out on top with a demanding 6-0 win over Trine University. Hatcher, Armstrong x2, Smith,

Alex Schaumburger found twine in the win that improves the Bulldogs to 23-2 on the season. Goaltender
Dylan Knighton earned the shutout victory between the pipes for the Bulldogs.
The No. 2 MD1 Bulldogs will look ahead to their next match-up against No. 12 Calvin University on January 25 and January 27. The puck will drop on Thursday night at the Arrington Ice Arena at 7:30 PM. The two GLCHL foes will then meet in Grand Rapids on Saturday for a 5:30 PM puck drop to close the series.
