OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. – The Adrian College women's golf team began its spring season this week with their annual trip to the Pfeiffer Invitational in North Carolina. The Bulldogs went on to finish 5
th out of 13 teams with a two-day score of 656. Adrian started the tournament with a 328 on Monday followed by another 328 on Tuesday.
Riley Kleck led the way for the Bulldogs where she finished 11
th in the field. Kleck shot a 79 in the opening round followed by an 82 on Tuesday to total 161.
Lauren Reed shot 164 during the two days with a pair of 82s to place 18
th.
Olivia Ohmer shot 81 and 85 for the Bulldogs to shoot 166 while
Ainslee Hewitt shot 86 and 81 to finish with a two-day total of 167.
Sara Bevington rounded out the starting five with an 89 and an 83 to finish with a 172.
The Bulldogs played a second team in the tournament that totaled a team score of 726.
Ashlynn Challand led the team with a 173 after shooting 83 and 90 followed by
Rylie Yuhas at 183 with scores of 94 and 89.
Kennedy Kehres finished with a two-day total of 184 followed by
Ella Mason at 186, and
Jamie Opfer at 210.
Adrian also competed three individuals on the trip with
Abigail Trepkowski shooting 181 for the two days while
Katie Bukovsky shot 198 and
Haisley Turnquist shot 254.
Adrian's next contest is a two-day tournament at Williamsburg National where they will compete at The Ruckus on March 23-24.
