SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Adrian College women's golf team competed in a two-day tournament hosted by Hope College over the weekend, finishing second out of six teams with a total score of 680. The Bulldogs carded a 342 in Friday's opening round before improving to a 338 on Saturday.
Rachel Fay paced Adrian with a runner-up finish after posting a two-round score of 159. She opened the tournament with a 79 and followed with an 80 in the final round.
Mackenzie Schulz tied for eighth overall with a 172 after rounds of 87 and 85. Ainslee Hewitt tied for 13th with a 176, shooting rounds of 87 and 89.
Sami Burks finished with a 177, bouncing back from a 93 on day one to shoot an 84 on Saturday. Kennedy Kehres rounded out the Bulldogs' scoring lineup with a 178 after consecutive rounds of 89.
Competing as an individual, Rylie Yuhas placed 23rd with rounds of 92 and 88 for a total of 180.
The Bulldogs return to action April 19-20 for their final event before the MIAA Spring Final when they travel to Wittenberg University for a two-day tournament.
