ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Adrian College figure skating team traveled to Trine University over the weekend to compete in the "Thunder Country Classic". Adrian placed 2nd out of 23 teams, with a total of 278 points. Trine University finished in 1st place with 290.5 points, University of Michigan in 3rd with 219 points, Northwestern University in 4th with 207 points.
The Bulldogs Earned a team first-place finish in the Low Team Maneuvers event (Kate Morey, Chloe Ewing, Lianah Noormohamed, Christine Koran, Brooke Pomroy, and Kayla Robinson). Adrian added individual first-place finishes in the following events: Chloe Ewing (Juvenile Short Program), Carina Cooper (Junior Short Program Group A), Kate Morey (Pre-Juvenile Free Skate), Morgan Vander Poppen (Preliminary Plus Free Skate), Mikaela Jewell (Juvenile Free Dance Group A), Christine Koran (Juvenile Free Dance Group B), Maya Renzoni (Novice Free Dance), Lianah Noormohamed (Pre-Bronze Pattern Dance Group A).
The following Bulldogs added podium finishes in the following events, earning top points towards the team total: Alexis Brzezinski - 2nd (Intermediate Short Program), Brooklyn Amburgey - 3rd (Preliminary Free Skate Group A), Brianna Hales - 2nd (Preliminary Free Skate Group B), Lianah Noormohamed - 2nd (Preliminary Free Skate Group C), Bella Morris - 2nd (Senior Short Program Group A), Brooke Pomroy - 2nd (Pre-Juvenile Free Skate), Kayla Robinson - 3rd (Pre-Juvenile Free Skate), Lena Hales - 2nd (Preliminary Pattern Dance), Alexis Brzezinski - 2nd (Novice Free Dance), Mackenzie Cicero - 2nd (Senior Free Skate Group A), Bella Morris - 2nd (Senior Free Skate Group B), Christine Koran - 3rd (Bronze Pattern Dance), Chloe Ewing - 3rd (Juvenile Free Skate Group B), and Kendra Shoup - 2nd (Juvenile Free Skate Group C).
The top-three points contributors for the Bulldogs were Lianah Noormohamed & Chloe Ewing tied for 39 points, Christine Koran with 33 points, and Bella Morris with 28 points.
The next event will take place in February at the Aggieland Classic in Sugarland, Texas.
