MADISON, Wis. -- The Adrian College Figure Skating team traveled to the University of Wisconsin-Madison over the weekend to compete at the "Skate on Wisconsin". Adrian placed 1st out of 24 teams, with a total of 286 points
. Trine University placed second with 263 points, Western Michigan University placed third with 224 points, and Northwestern University placed fourth with 215 points.Â
The Bulldogs Earned a team first-place finish in the Low Team Maneuvers event (Kate Morey, Chloe Ewing, Lianah Noormohamed, Christine Koran, Brooke Pomroy).Â
Adrian added individual first-place finishes in the following events: Brianna Hales (Preliminary Free Skate Group B), Lianah Noormohamed (Preliminary Free Skate Group C), Miranda Sutton (Senior Free Dance Group A), Miranda Sutton (Silver Pattern Dance), Alexis Brzezinski (Intermediate Free Skate Group A), Julia Miranda (Pre-Bronze Pattern Dance Group B), Christine Koran (Bronze Pattern Dance), Carina Cooper (Junior Free Skate), Bella Morris (Senior Free Skate), Jacob Costello (Preliminary Pattern Dance), Chloe Ewing (Juvenile Free Skate Group A), Mikaela Jewell (Juvenile Free Skate Group C).Â
The following Bulldogs added podium finishes in the following events, earning top points towards the team total: Carina Cooper (2nd- Junior Short Program Group B), Lianah Noormohamed (3rd - Juvenile Free Dance Group B), Kendra Shoup (3rd - Intermediate Free Dance), Brooklyn Amburgey (2nd - Preliminary Free Skate Group A), Bella Morris (2nd - Junior Free Dance), Chloe Ewing (2nd - Pre-Bronze Pattern Dance), Lena Hales (2nd - Preliminary Plus Group A), Kate Morey (2nd - Pre-Juvenile Free Skate), Kayla Robinson (3rd - Pre-Juvenile Free Skate)
The top-three points contributors for the Bulldogs were Chloe Ewing (42), Lianah Noormohamed (33), and Christine Koran (30).
This competition solidified the bulldogs qualifying for the National Intercollegiate Final in Salt Lake City, Utah from April 10-12th.Â
