TIFFIN, Ohio - The Adrian College men's wrestling team traveled to Heidelberg University on Saturday to compete in the Berg Holiday Duals, where the Bulldogs faced Millikin University, Otterbein University, and Mount St. Joseph University.
Adrian opened the day against Millikin University. At 125 pounds, 15th-ranked Adrian Rosas earned a decision victory to give the Bulldogs an early boost. Jager Corliss came up short at 133, but Cole Ridel responded with a decision win at 141. Landyn Crance fell at 149 before top-ranked Aiden Smith secured a pin at 157. Adrian dropped the bouts at 165 and 174, while Spencer Vos picked up a decision victory at 184. Millikin claimed the final two weight classes to edge Adrian, 27–14.
The second dual of the day featured a tightly contested matchup against Otterbein University. Rosas continued his strong performance with a pin at 125. Otterbein answered with a win at 133, but Ridel swung momentum back to Adrian with a pin at 141. Otterbein claimed the 149 bout before Smith added another pin at 157. The Cardinals won the next two matches, while Vos earned a decision at 184. Otterbein took the 197 bout, setting up the heavyweight match as the deciding factor. Scott Smith delivered for the Bulldogs, winning by decision at 285 to secure a 24–22 Adrian victory.
Adrian closed the day against Mount St. Joseph University and controlled the dual from start to finish. Rosas received a forfeit win at 125, and Corliss followed with a decision victory at 133. Ridel stayed hot at 141 with a major decision win. Crance fell at 149, but Smith responded with a pin at 157. Rickey Lynch added a pin at 165 to extend Adrian's lead, while Mount St. Joseph picked up a win at 174. Vos cruised to a technical fall at 184, and Shan Swank earned a decision at 197. Scott Smith capped off the dual with a decision win at 285, as the Bulldogs rolled to a 36–12 victory.
