OXFORD, Ohio. -- The Adrian College Women's ACHA Division 2 hockey team wrapped up its regular season agenda over the weekend, splitting its two-game road series with Miami University-Ohio. The Bulldogs won game one on Saturday night by a 2-1 margin, before being blanked by the Redhawks, 2-1, on Sunday in game two.
The Bulldogs mustered a strong performance, despite being out-shot on Saturday, holding off the Redhawks for the opening victory.
Akeeliah Graham and
Lily Storer tallied the markers, while goaltender,
Emily Tracht, made 34 saves in the game.
Lulu Weglarz added a lone assist in the Bulldog victory.
No offense remained on Sunday though, as Miami stood their ground on home ice to blank the Bulldogs by two.
Jordan Hunt stood in net for the Bulldogs, making 35 saves on 37 shots in the loss.
The WD2 Bulldogs end the regular season with a 12-11-2 overall record, which includes a 6-4 CCWHA conference record. The Bulldogs will now prepare for the CCWHA Playoffs, taking place next weekend in Livonia, Michigan. The No. 6 seed Adrian Bulldogs will face-off against the No. 3 seed Central Michigan Chippewas on Friday, February 21 in the quarterfinals at 5:30 PM.
