ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Adrian College Club Volleyball team picked up a win at the Grand Valley State Tournament over this past weekend.
Adrian opened the tournament with a tough matchup against Grand Valley State University, falling 0-2. However, the Bulldogs quickly bounced back in their second match, securing a dominant 2-0 victory over Ferris State University.
The momentum was short-lived as Adrian faced Purdue University in their next match, ultimately falling 0-2. In a rematch against Grand Valley State, the Bulldogs fought hard but came up short once again in two sets. The tournament concluded with a matchup against Central Michigan University, where Adrian fell in two sets.
Despite the results, several Bulldogs delivered standout performances. Freshman
Ana Cuccia made her mark from the service line with six aces, while fellow freshman
Jersey Patton anchored the defense with an 37 digs. Freshman
Shanelle Woods showcased her playmaking abilities, leading the team with 37 assists and contributing six blocks.
Junior Madison Ritche led the offensive effort with 24 kills while also recording a team-high eight blocks. Junior
Kennedy Ross added to the attack with 12 kills and five blocks, rounding out a strong individual showing for the Bulldogs.
Adrian is back on the court on February 22 where they will take on Saginaw Valley State University.
