OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. – The Adrian College women's golf team traveled to North Carolina for their annual spring break trip, where they competed in the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The Bulldogs finished 5th out of 12 teams, posting a two-day score of 690. Adrian shot 354 on day one and improved to 336 on day two.
Ainslee Hewitt led the Bulldogs with a two-day score of 165. She shot an 83 on Monday and an 82 on Tuesday, finishing 13th in the field. Lauren Reed shot 90 and 82 for a total score of 172, earning her a 19th-place finish, while Riley Kleck placed 22nd with a score of 173, shooting 90 on day one and 83 on day two. Sara Bevington posted a 180 with rounds of 91 and 89, and Olivia Ohmer rounded out the starting five with scores of 95 and 91 for a total of 186.
Adrian also fielded a second team in the tournament, led by Savana Smith and Abigail Trepkowski. Both players finished with a score of 178, with Smith shooting 91 on day one and 87 on day two, and Trepkowski posting a 93 and 85. Addie Karpinski finished with a 183, shooting 95 and 88, while Kennedy Kehres and Ella Mason each finished with scores of 187, with both players shooting 97 and 90. Adrian's second team finished in 11th place with a total score of 726.
The women's golf team will enjoy a few fun practice rounds down south to wrap up their trip before returning to competition on March 31-April 1 at the Max/Susan Stith Invitational in Glen Allen, Virginia.
