Tournament Preview: MIAA Baseball Tournament Returns to Adrian Hosted by No. 1 Bulldogs

ADRIAN, Mich. – The 2025 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Baseball Tournament returns to Nicolay Field from May 7–9. Adrian College earned the No. 1 seed after capturing its 16th conference championship, finishing the MIAA regular season with a 16-5 record and 24-15 overall.

The top-seeded Bulldogs will open tournament play against No. 4 seed Kalamazoo College on Wednesday, May 7, at 3:00 PM. Adrian swept Kalamazoo during the regular season, winning 4-1 at home and taking both games of a road doubleheader, 8-3 and 6-3. Ryan Davis stood out in the series, blasting three home runs.

Adrian is led offensively by Jake Burns, a Tecumseh, Michigan native, who posted a .400 batting average over 31 games. David Kedrow leads the team with 49 RBIs, followed closely by Davis with 44. The Bulldogs' offense has been potent all season, tallying 414 hits, including 79 doubles, 12 triples, and 32 home runs.

On the mound, Adrian boasts a strong pitching duo in Jaxon Clark and Landon Kozlowski. Clark has made 11 starts, compiling a 6-2 record with a 4.09 ERA and 39 strikeouts over 66 innings. Kozlowski has started 10 games, recording a 3-3 mark with a 4.26 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 44.1 innings. The Bulldogs' bullpen adds depth and reliability, led by closer Ryan Davis (0.99 ERA, 4 saves), along with strong contributions from Sean Parker (2.92 ERA), Lincoln Lipinski (3.00), Raymond Keane (3.12), Broc Shoemaker (3.18), Griffin Firestine (3.27), and Ambrose Horwath (3.97).

Joining Adrian in the tournament are No. 2 seed Calvin University (23-16, 15-6 MIAA), No. 3 seed Alma College (26-14, 14-7 MIAA), and No. 4 seed Kalamazoo College (26-14, 12-9 MIAA). The double-elimination tournament will be hosted entirely at Nicolay Field. All-MIAA selections will be announced on Thursday, with the tournament championship game scheduled for Friday.

Parking is available along Creehan Lane near the baseball field or at the Adrian College softball field at 202 Stratford Drive. Please note that the Dome parking lot will be unavailable due to construction of the Adrian College Dome. Tickets for the 2025 MIAA Baseball Tournament can be purchased online, with a new ticket required each day.
