ADRIAN, Mich. – Adrian College men's NCAA hockey program continues to build its professional pedigree as two recent alumni, Connor May and Sam Ruffin, signed contracts to continue their playing careers.
Connor May, a 2025 graduate, signed with the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). May played five seasons for the Bulldogs, appearing in 117 games and recording 27 goals and 45 assists (72 points). A key contributor on special teams, May scored seven power-play goals and two shorthanded, while winning 46% of faceoffs. He was part of the 2022 National Championship team and netted the game-winning goal in the 2025 Harris Cup Quarterfinal mini-game.
Sam Ruffin, a 2023 graduate, signed with the Coventry Blaze of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) in the United Kingdom. Ruffin previously played in the ECHL with the Indy Fuel and Adirondack Thunder before finishing the 2024-25 season with the SPHL's Huntsville Havoc. At Adrian, Ruffin compiled an impressive 135 points (50 goals, 85 assists) in 101 games. He joins Adrian alumni Alessio Luciani and Dershahn Stewart, as well as former Bulldogs assistant and current Blaze head coach Kevin Moore.
The Bulldogs now boast two pro signings from the 2024-25 team and 47 total professional signings in program history.
