ADRIAN, Mich. – Head NCAA Baseball Coach Craig Rainey has announced the return of Ben Sullivan as the new assistant coach for the Bulldogs baseball program. A 2024 graduate of Adrian College, Sullivan previously served as the team's Director of Data Analytics during the 2024 season. He replaces Gunner Rainey, who recently accepted a position at Eastern Kentucky University as the Director of Player Development.
In 2025, Sullivan served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Valdosta State University in Georgia, helping lead the team to a 30-22 record. Valdosta State secured the No. 4 seed in the Gulf South Conference Tournament and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Regionals.
During his time at Adrian, Sullivan contributed to a historic 2024 season, where the Bulldogs posted a 33-16 record and claimed the No. 2 seed in the MIAA Tournament. Adrian swept through both the MIAA Tournament and the NCAA Regionals at Baldwin Wallace, earning the program's first-ever Super Regional appearance.
In addition to his coaching duties, Sullivan will also serve as the Bulldogs' Recruiting Coordinator. He brings two years of recruiting experience, including a role as an admissions counselor at Adrian College in 2024 before joining the Valdosta State staff.
Sullivan will assume his coaching responsibilities immediately as preparations begin for the 2026 baseball season.
