ADRIAN, Mich. – USCHO and DIIIHockeyNews released their weekly polls for NCAA Division III women's hockey on Monday afternoon. The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team moved up to No. 8 in the USCHO poll while holding steady at No. 8 in the DIIIHockeyNews rankings.
Adrian was ranked No. 10 in last week's USCHO poll before climbing two spots following a two-game sweep over Trine University. The Bulldogs captured the series with wins of 10-0 and 5-1 to secure the NCHA Kronschnabel Cup and earn the No. 1 seed for the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs. With the sweep, Adrian improved to 20-5-0 overall this season.
Concordia University Wisconsin remains the only other NCHA team ranked in the national polls, sitting at No. 12 in the USCHO rankings and No. 10 in the DIIIHockeyNews poll. Earlier this season, Adrian split a road series with Concordia, falling 6-3 in game one before bouncing back for a 5-2 victory in game two.
The Bulldogs will face Trine once again in a two-game rematch during the NCHA Slaats Cup Quarterfinals on February 20-21. Both contests are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
