FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. -- With the indoor season complete, the MIAA released its preseason rankings for the upcoming outdoor season. The conference features a wealth of talent across all events, with several athletes earning All-American honors during the past indoor season. Those athletes now prepare to make their mark in the upcoming outdoor campaign. The 2026 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set for April 30 and May 1 in Holland, Michigan, hosted by Hope College. The preseason rankings offer a predictive look ahead at a highly competitive conference.
The Adrian College men's and women's track and field teams both come in at fifth in the preseason poll, matching or improving upon their indoor finishes. The men's team finished sixth at the 2026 MIAA Indoor Championships with 39 points, while the women placed fifth with 35.33 points.
Both programs bring back a number of athletes who turned in strong performances indoors.
Alysia Townsend returns after setting multiple Adrian College records during the indoor season, earning MIAA Women's Field Athlete of the Year and All-Region honors.
Bridget Waterstradt also returns on the women's side after resetting the program record in the indoor 3,000-meter run.
The men's team brings its own record-holders into the outdoor season.
KJ Scott set and reset the Adrian College weight throw record multiple times indoors, earning MIAA Second Team and All-Region honors.
Jaymes Vines also returns after earning MIAA Second Team and All-Region recognition.
Will Houvener rounds out the group of returning record-holders for the outdoor season.
The Bulldogs open the outdoor season March 28 in Cedarville, Ohio, at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open, hosted by Cedarville University.
