FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced its All-MIAA Women's Indoor Track and Field teams on Wednesday morning. Adrian College's Alysia Townsend earned All-MIAA honors and was named the MIAA Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year.
The sophomore delivered a record-breaking performance at the MIAA Championships to secure the league's top field honor. Townsend set a new meet record in the long jump with a winning leap of 5.58 meters, surpassing the previous championship mark of 5.57 meters set in 2022. Her jump is tied for 41st nationally this season in NCAA Division III.
Townsend also finished runner-up in the high jump, clearing 1.63 meters. She matched the winning height but placed second based on attempts. Demonstrating her versatility, Townsend added a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.86 seconds.
Her success across multiple events highlighted her range and played a key role in Adrian's fifth-place team finish at the conference meet.
The latest accolades add to an already impressive résumé. Townsend was named Indoor and Outdoor All-Region in 2025, earned 2025 Outdoor MIAA Women's Field Athlete of the Year honors, received Outdoor All-MIAA First Team recognition, and claimed MIAA individual championships in both the long jump and high jump during the outdoor season.
Townsend will look to continue building her national standing this weekend when she competes at the ONU Last Chance Meet on Saturday, March 7, in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
