INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team is headed to Wilkes University for the First Round of the NCAA Division III National Tournament. The Bulldogs earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the NCHA Slaats Cup on Saturday afternoon over St. Norbert College in overtime, 4-3.
Wilkes sits at 24-1-1 on the season and was the regular season and tournament champions of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC). Wilkes will serve as host of the First Round after finishing No. 6 in the NPI Rankings while the Bulldogs finished at No. 13. The winner of the First Round game between Adrian and Wilkes will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals and head to Nazareth who recieved a first round bye after claiming the No. 3 spot in the NPI.
Adrian and Wilkes will face off on Saturday, March 14 at 3:00 PM at the Toyota SportsPlex in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. More information regarding live stream and tickets will be announced later this week.
