ADRIAN, Mich. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced its All-Region Teams on Tuesday afternoon, with four members of the Adrian College baseball team earning recognition. The Bulldogs landed two Second Team selections and two Third Team selections in Region VII, which consists of schools from Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, including three teams competing in the NCAA Division III College World Series.
Rolando Jimenez earned Second Team All-Region honors at third base. Entering the Division III College World Series, Jimenez is batting .369 through 46 games. He has recorded 65 hits in 176 at-bats, including 10 doubles, one triple, and two home runs. Jimenez has driven in 42 RBIs, scored 29 runs, and stolen 13 bases. Defensively, he owns a .968 fielding percentage in 126 chances while helping turn seven double plays. Jimenez was also named to the All-MIAA First Team earlier this season.
Ambrose Horwath also claimed Second Team All-Region honors as a pitcher. Entering the College World Series, Horwath holds a 2.55 ERA across a team-high 74 innings pitched. He owns a 10-1 record in 15 appearances, including 10 starts. Horwath has allowed 21 earned runs on 74 hits while striking out 42 batters this season. He was previously selected to the All-MIAA First Team.
Gabe Jones was named Third Team All-Region at catcher. Jones has appeared in 49 games with 47 starts for the Bulldogs and is batting .324 with 60 hits in 185 at-bats. He leads the team with 20 doubles and 47 RBIs while adding four home runs, 47 runs scored, and 25 walks. Behind the plate, Jones has been perfect defensively in 257 total chances and has thrown out 10 runners attempting to steal. He also earned All-MIAA Second Team honors this season.
Rounding out Adrian's honorees was Landon Kozlowski, who earned a Third Team All-Region selection as a pitcher. Kozlowski leads the Bulldogs with a 2.38 ERA in 56.2 innings pitched. He owns a 4-1 record in 13 appearances and eight starts this season. Kozlowski has allowed just 15 earned runs while striking out 37 batters and holding opponents to a .214 batting average.
The No. 7 Bulldogs will travel to Eastlake for the NCAA Division III College World Series beginning Friday, May 29. Adrian will open tournament play against Rowan University at 5:00 p.m. ET.
