NCAA DIII World Series Preview: Bulldogs Open Up with Rowan on Friday in Third NCAA World Series Appearance

EASTLAKE, Ohio – The Adrian College baseball team is back in the NCAA Division III World Series for the third time in program history. The 2026 Bulldogs join the 2008 and 2021 teams as the three Adrian College baseball teams to reach the final eight teams. Adrian made their 18th appearance in the NCAA Tournament after winning the MIAA where they hold an all-time NCAA Tournament record of 41-38.

On the 2026 season, the Bulldogs sit 37-12 on the year and are currently tied with the program record for wins in a single season. Adrian is coming off a Regional Championship and Super Regional Championship at Nicolay Field. Prior to that, the Bulldogs clinched the MIAA Regular Season and the MIAA Tournament to earn the automatic bid.

The Bulldogs liked to come from behind in the Regional and Super Regional rounds as they dropped the first game of both tournaments and faced elimination for the rest of the round. Adrian is the only team in the NCAA Tournament to drop the first game of the Regional and comeback to win the Regional Championship. The Bulldogs are also the only team to lose game one of the Super Regional and advance to the College World Series.

Adrian continues to be led by Rolando Jimenez on offense who recently earned Second Team All-Region honors by the ABCA as he currently holds a team-high batting average of .369. Jaxon McGuigan bats .336 followed by Jack Boike at .329, Nic Bruder at .327, Brendan Willadsen at .325, and Gabe Jones at .324. Jones was also recently named to the All-Region Team earning Third Team honors.

The three-headed monster in starting pitching for the Bulldogs has continued to be lights out with Landon Kozlowski earning All-Region honors with a 2.38 ERA in 56.2 innings pitched followed by All-Region selection Abrose Horwath with a 2.55 ERA and a 10-1 record in 74.0 innings pitched. Parker Faris holds a 3.28 ERA with a 9-2 record in 60.1 innings pitched. Sean Parker has been a star for the Bulldogs out of the pen in the playoffs by allowing just three runs in 24.1 innings pitched with 20 strikeouts over the last three weeks.

The World Series will consist of two four-team double elimination brackets with the winner of each bracket competing in the National Championship in a best-of-three series. The Bulldogs have never competed against the three other teams in their bracket with the first match up in program history against Rowan University followed by potential first match ups against Endicott College or Salisbury University to follow. The other pod consists of Baldwin Wallace, Denison, East Texas Baptist, and Johns Hopkins University. Adrian is 4-7 all time against Denison including a 15-5 loss early in the 2026 season in the snow. Adrian is 1-5 all time against Baldwin Wallace, and are 1-1 all time against Johns Hopkins with a loss in the 2008 World Series and a win in the 2021 World Series. Adrian is 2-2 against East Texas Baptist including a 10-3 win earlier this year.

The Bulldogs will kick off the World Series on Friday, May 29 at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio at 5PM against Rowan. All stream, live stat, and tickets are run through NCAA.com. Fans can also catch the game on 96.5 FM The Cave, a radio broadcast on Adrian College TV YouTube, and on TV at Fricker's in Adrian or ZZ's Sports Bar and Grill.
