Final Stats

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The women's basketball team had their chances down the stretch on Thursday night in the second game of the Cruzin' Classic versus Millikin, but could not hit the big shot to put them over the hump in a 47-42 loss to the Big Blue.

Adrian trailed 24-20 at intermission and held a three-point lead in the first half before Millikin scored the last seven points of the first half to lead by four. MU shot 34.5 percent in the first half while Adrian shot 26.9 percent.

In the second half, Millikin came out and established their outside shooting game by making four of the first seven three-pointers they attempted in the first six minutes of the second half. Big Blue led 35-27 at the 16:19 mark after a Cecily Aldridge triple. Adrian kept the game close and cut the lead down to 44-42 with 3:17 left on a pair of Ashley McClarren freebies.

The Bulldogs could not score for the rest of the game however and Millkin scored the last three points of the ballgame at the foul line to claim their fourth victory in nine tries. Adrian committed 20 turnovers which proved costly in the second half. Anita Stamps and McClarren led the team with nine points. Adrian outrebounded Millikin, 39-34, with 15 offensive rebounds. AC was 7-of-8 at the charity stripe and 16-of-51 from the floor (31.4%).
