Final Stats
ADRIAN, Mich. - The first round of the MIAA
Tournament saw Adrian's seniors shine in the clutch as the Bulldogs
erased a 10-point second half deficit and claimed a 62-57 win over
Trine University. The Bulldogs trailed 50-40 with 11:41 remaining
and used a 22-7 run to propel them into the MIAA Semifinals. Adrian
(12-13) will face top-seeded Hope College on Thursday night at
DeVos Fieldhouse with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Flying
Dutch claimed a 76-52 over eighth-seeded Alma College to advance to
the semifinals.
In other MIAA action, Calvin defeated Olivet, 76-57, in Grand
Rapids and Saint Mary's got past Albion, 61-59, in Notre Dame,
Indiana. The second-seeded Knights and third-seeded Belles will
also play Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at VanNoord Arena.

Stamps erupted in the second half for 18 points after going
scoreless in the first half. Stamps was 0-of-2 from the floor in
the first half and went 4-of-8 in the second half including 3-of-6
from behind the arc. She was also 7-of-9 at the foul line in the
last 20 minutes. Stamps also had eight rebounds in 30 minutes.
Jennifer
Perrin scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half and
finished the game with four rebounds and two assists in 38 minutes.
Ashley
McClarren scored 10 of her 12 points in the first half as
Adrian trailed 30-29 at the break. McClarren finished with eight
rebounds, four assists and two steals in 33 minutes. Elysia Norris
grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds before fouling out in 18
minutes.
Trine went without a field goal for the final 5:28 as Adrian
switched to a zone defense which neutralized the Thunder. Trine
went 9-of-29 from the floor in the second half and were 7-of-11 at
the free throw line. Adrian was very accurate from the free throw
line going 19-of-22 (86.4%) for the contest including a 11-of-13
clip in the second half.
Adrian had a huge edge on the boards, 49-25, and had 17
offensive rebounds. Adrian had 13 second chance points compared to
four for the Thunder. The contest also featured 11 ties and nine
lead changes.
