Kilcoyne ties record as Bulldogs beat Hope, 15-10

Box Score

HOLLAND, Mich. – The men's lacrosse team (7-3, 2-0) pulled away from Hope College (6-2, 1-1) in the second quarter en route to a 10-5 win Thursday night in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action as Cody Kilcoyne tied an Adrian lacrosse record for most points in a single game with 10.

Cody Kilcoyne scored nine goals and had one assist in one of the best offensive showings in Adrian lacrosse history. The 10-point effort would tie Jeff Ivey, Ryan Knautz and T.J Cook for most points by an Adrian player in one game, while the nine goals would be the second-most scored in a game by a Bulldog- one short of Ivey's 10-goal performance against Hendrix College in 2008.

The nine goals and 10 points do tie for the most by an Adrian player in a conference game, however.

The teams went back and forth in the early going with the Flying Dutchmen tying the match at 5-5 with about 12 minutes left in the first half.

Tom Thielman scored twice to restore Adrian's lead as the Bulldogs would score the next six goals and coast from there.

Mitch Burgin also scored a pair of goals, while single tallies came from John Hudzinski and A.J. Smith.

Lido Aldini, Brandon MacDonald, and Nicholas Frontczak had four groundballs each of the team's 27 total and Kevin Lerg made 11 saves in the cage.

The team will face Alma College at home Saturday, April 13th at 1 p.m.
