ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's lacrosse team is set to hit the road Saturday, April 25 to Albion College for the MIAA quarterfinal game presented by Collegiate Credit Union.
The Bulldogs finished their regular season with a 3-13 overall record and 1-5 in conference play, facing some tough opponents this season. Adrian picked up big wins against Wittenberg, Otterbein, and Alma, where the Bulldogs nearly almost shutout Alma with a 19-1 win.
This Bulldog team this season has been highlighted by senior
Austin Selvage who is leading the team with 51 points, 30 goals, and 21 assists. Following Selvage is junior
Trace Tidswell also with 30 goals and tallying 12 assists for a total of 42 points. Senior
Alec Winegar has been a crucial piece to this Bulldogs offense as well scoring 24 goals, tallying 13 assists for a total of 37 points. On the faceoff circle, sophomore
Nico Palazzolo leads Adrian with 112 wins on the draw out of 244 faceoffs taken, with also accumulating 61 ground balls on this season thus far. Defensively,
Tyler Ristau leads the team in caused turnovers with 16, while sophomore
Noah Carithers follows closely behind with 15 caused turnovers. Between the pipes
Josiah Karnehm has been a key part of this Bulldogs defense. Starting in all 16 games for Adrian, Karnehm has made 252 saves with a .569 save percentage, allowing 191 goals against on 443 shots faced in goal for a 14.03 goals against average.
The Bulldogs clinched the No. 6 seed in the MIAA tournament where they will face the No. 3 seeded team, Albion College. The last time these two met was only two weeks ago where the Bulldogs forced overtime, with the Britons ultimately taking it away just 32 seconds into overtime. The Bulldogs are looking for revenge, this time on tournament stage. Opening face-off will take place at 12:00 PM on Saturday.
