TOP 'DAWGS
= Senior Brigitte Zavithsanos led the team with 11 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field.
= Classmate Paige Machnacki (3 points) came off the bench to grab seven rebounds to tie for the game high and she added a blocked shot.
= Freshman Sadia Johnson (7 points) had game highs of four assists and three steals.
THE OPPOSITION
= Ali Spayde netted a game-high 20 points to lead three Knights in double-digits. She made 7 of 10 field goal attempts and hit on all five free throws. She also had four assists and three rebounds.
= Anna Timmer stuffed the statline with 14 points (6-8 FGs), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
= Bre Luurtsema also had 14 points, plus five rebounds and three assists.
= Becca Richards tied teammate Spayde and Johnson with game-high honors with four assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Calvin shot 50 percent (29-58) from the field and held Adrian to just 26.2 (16-61).
= The Knights took advantage of 21 Bulldog turnovers that translated to 27 points.
= Adrian hung with Calvin by trailing only 18-15 after the first quarter. A Machnacki 3ball from the left corner gave the Bulldogs an 11-9 lead with 4 minutes and 4 seconds left.
= The Knights took control in the second quarter, outscoring AC 25-10 to take a 43-25 halftime lead.
= Calvin also had statistical advantages in these categories: rebounds (43-38), assists (20-11), points in the paint (38-18) and fastbreak points (16-6).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= At 114 games, the Adrian-Calvin series is the most played for a Bulldogs opponent. The Knights lead 88-26 all-time.
= The Bulldogs went 17-for-21 at the free throw stripe for 81.0 percent, matching their season's best for that many makes. Adrian also was 17-of-21 on Dec. 15 at Lancaster Bible (won 83-79).
