Box Score ADRIAN, Mich.--Senior Brett Farrelly made a season-high 18 saves, but the Adrian College men's lacrosse team couldn't overcome an early deficit in a 14-5 loss Tuesday to visiting Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action.

= Farrelly made a season-high 18 saves in the Adrian cage--several on shots from close range.
= Senior defenseman Cody Schmitt had a pair of goals, scooped up a team-best nine ground balls and produced a game-high four caused turnovers.
= Senior Justin Polischuk, junior Callum Clark and freshman Griffin Davison also found the back of the net for Adrian.
THE OPPOSITION
= Dominic Hamper paced the Britons by earning a game-best six points on three goals and three assists
= Drew Harm added four goals on five shots and he had two ground balls.
= Kyle DeCamp went 13-for-15 in the face-off "X", while McGregor Wright won all six of his draws. DeCamp also had a game-best 11 ground balls.
= Goalie Trevor McManus got the win, playing the first 49:28 while making seven stops.
= Nicolas Bowman also had a multiple-goal game with two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Albion led 8-3 at halftime and outscored the Bulldogs 6-2 in the second half to pull away for the nine-goal victory. The Britons never trailed.
= Hamper gave Albion a quick 2-0 lead with a pair of goals just 36 seconds apart, beginning with 14 minutes and 9 seconds left in the first quarter.
= Schmitt cut the deficit in half, 2-1, with his first goal and opened the scoring with his second in the second quarter to make it 4-2 Albion at the 14:00 mark.
= But the Britons scored 10 of the game's next 11 tallies to take a commanding 14-3 cushion midway through the fourth.
= Both teams cleared efficiently as Albion was 23-for-26 and Adrian, 23-for-28.
= The Britons also had more ground balls (48-23), shots (53-24) and shots on goal (32-13).
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= Tonight served as the Bulldogs' home opener in MIAA play.
= Despite the loss, Adrian still leads Albion in the all-time series, 7-4.
= Albion is the defending regular-season and tournament MIAA champion.
= Schmitt extended his school record for caused turnovers with 105 for his career. He's also Adrian's active leader with 235 ground balls, which is second all-time.
